Newsletter – July 2019
We were delighted last month when Altro Resins, one of our long standing key suppliers presented ACC Flooring with an Installation Recognition Award for the project at Globe Mills in Slaithwaite.
The worsted textile mill was built in 1887 and has under gone a £30 million refurbishment consisting of apartments, retail space, artisan hall, café, doctor’s surgery and a large innovation centre.
Altro Flexiflow was chosen by the client as it offers a self-smoothing, seamless and uniformed finish with uninterrupted lines. This polyurethane resin product features a UV stable top coat and benefits from durability and ease of cleaning. Available in 27 pastel, solid and bright shades with an eggshell finish.
In addition, the product contains more than 50% renewable natural oil content.

Case Study – Bayliss & Harding choose ACC Flooring
After looking at our website, Bayliss & Harding, based in Huddersfield, one of the UK’s leading toiletries and fragrance asked if we could provide a solution to their Main Warehouse which included re-instatement of existing demarcation and remedial work to their substrate and damage to floor cracks.
In this instance, due to the time restrictions placed on us by the client, we used a Polyaspartic product which is solvent free and UV stable and which has been designed to cure in less than an hour and offers a competitive and safer alternative to Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) products which are currently being phased out due to their associated high odour.
Have a look at our case study which includes a testimonial from Ben Walsh their Warehouse Manager. Read full case study
Case Study – Our little place in a bit of history
Grantley Hall in Ripon was opened on 6th July 2019 after a £70m project to renovate and refurbish the 17th century Grade II listed building. Now a luxury hotel and wellness retreat set in the stunning North Yorkshire countryside it’s the ideal setting for dining, dream weddings and spa weekends.
The house entertained Queen Anne and during the Second World War the building was used as a convalescence home for injured soldiers. The hall proudly welcomed Dame Vera Lynn to sing for the troops.
The HACS Group appointed us to carry out both the screeding and resin flooring installation to both the Basement and Ground Floor Back of House areas including C & B Store, Waste Compound, BOH Corridor, KP Station, Plant Room, Beer Store, Staff WC’s, BOH, Staff Room, FE Stair, Main Kitchen and Function Room Finishing Kitchen.
A Tarmac Truscreed C30 was installed at 82mm to a total of 479m². The screed was left to cure for 7 weeks prior to the installation of the resin flooring. Altro Crete 8mm slip resistant, heavy duty polyurethane screed in Silver Grey was specified by the architect. This product benefits from excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, low potential for slip, good cleanability, withstands steam cleaning when installed at 8mm, is impervious and provides a seamless, hygienic finish. With additional features including excellent impact resistance, very heavy duty wear characteristics, a 15 year manufacturers guarantee and 20 year life expectancy.
Altro Cove detail at 100mm was installed to Altro Whiterock hygienic wall systems to provide a fully sealed installation.
We were delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project and would like to pass on our best wishes to the owners. Read full case study
