Case Study: CAMHS Unit – Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Lindum BMS appointed ACC Flooring Ltd to carry out the works included in the resin flooring & walls package to the refurbished Seclusion Room at the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit at Ash Villa in Sleaford.

The walls were boarded out with marine ply to provide a smooth substrate & fixed at 150mm centres, whilst the concrete substrate to the floor area was mechanically prepared with hand held, vacuum controlled diamond grinders.

A coat of Altro Prime standard primer was installed to all surfaces & allowed to cure. Altro Screed 3mm standard variant in Cliff was applied to the walls with 2 coats of Altro Screed standard clear seal to complete the installation.

Altro Screed 4mm standard variant in Malvern was installed to the floor areas & coving detail which include a anti pick sealant on the transition between the coving & the walls. A coat of Altro Screed standard clear seal incorporating a glass bead was applied followed by a final coat of Altro Screed standard clear seal to complete the installation & to provide a slip resistant surface.

Altro Screed is a three part solvent free epoxy resin system comprising clear resin & coloured aggregates providing a moderate level of chemical & impact resistance. Both the 3mm & 4mm systems are available in a wide range of colours.

Altro Screed standard seal coat is a solvent free clear epoxy seal which seals the surface for hygiene & ease of cleaning.

The 3mm has a life expectancy of 10 years whilst the 4mm systems have a life expectancy of 15 years.

Whilst the 3mm system is perfect for vertical surfaces, the 4mm system is ideal for reception areas, corridors, and pharmaceutical production units, laboratories, packing areas, & changing rooms.

The installation took 5 days to complete & the client was delighted with the outcome.
