Case Study: Designer & Seller of Ready to Assemble Furniture

A new client asked ACC Flooring to carry our remedial work to the warehouse of a designer & seller of ready to assemble furniture.

The numerous isolated repairs were situated throughout their warehouse which is operational 7 days a week. The issues were not only trip hazards but also causing damage to wheeled materials handling equipment.

All the areas were diamond saw cut to make the edges square and then mechanically prepared with hand held diamond grinders. All the debris was then removed & vacuumed to leave a clean surface.

A coat of an epoxy primer was then applied to all the areas and then depending upon the depth of the repair ACC Bulk or ACC Maintain was installed and made smooth and level with the adjacent substrate.

ACC Bulk is a resin-rich granite reinforced trowel applied polyurethane repair mortar for use as underlayment or infill on concrete and polymer modified cementious screeds and to form falls or ramps. It can be applied at thicknesses of 10 – 60mm with a cure time to light pedestrian traffic of 8 hours.

ACC Maintain is a low odour polyurethane concrete which has been designed to use as a compound and also repair joint arrises in concrete floor slabs and offers excellent impact resistance and durability. It can be applied at thicknesses of 5 – 10mm with a cure time to light pedestrian traffic of 6 hours, light wheeled traffic of 24 hours and heavy duty traffic of 48 hours.

Where the repairs ran along side of an expansion joint these were saw cut and infilled with a flexible mastic.

The work was completed in a 2 days window with the full co-operation of the client to ensure minimal disruption to their operation.
