Case Study: Fine Chemical Manufacturers – Bradford
ACC were contacted by a returning customer to carry out three further areas within their Factory in Bradford West Yorkshire, a Laboratory, a Curing Room and an Office Space.
Preparation to the existing coated substrate was carried out by enclosed vacuum enclosed diamond grinding to remove any failed epoxy coatings and laitance to provide a clean sound substrate ready to receive a resin floor finish.
Making good to both the floor and expansion joints was required, and a low odour polyurethane concrete repair mortar was used. It is specifically designed for floor repairs to either concrete or polymer modified cementitious screeds and can be applied at a thickness of 5 – 10mm as required.
Once the areas were fully prepared two coats of solvent free high build epoxy coating in a Chelsea Blue colour was applied at a nominal 350-500 microns for both coats, with a chelford aggregate scatter between coats to provide a slip resistant profile as requested by the client.
High build coatings provide a tough, hard wearing coating for medium duty traffic areas, giving a high film build and wear resistance with good housekeeping.
