ACC Flooring were contracted to complete a 2nd phase for an existing client at their Daventry Factory.
The project consisted of 315m2 of floor area, installation of Coving and the re-instatement of expansion joints.
The floor was mechanically prepared using enclosed diamond grinding to remove any laitance, to leave a clean substrate and anchor grooves diamond vacuum sawcut into the floor to lock in the polyurethane screed.
Altrocrete 6mm in Zaffre Blue was then installed to the floor area, heavy duty polyurethane screeds have a profiled finish to aid slip resistance and meet the requirements of (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of food stuffs and are also impervious.
A stainless steel trim was fitted to receive the coving detail and a heavy duty wall render in Zaffre Blue was installed to form the coving detail at 100mm high as requested by the client.
The Expansion joints were diamond vacuum sawcut and re-instated using Altroexpand, a chemical resistant jointing compound in Zaffre Blue to complete the installation.
Heavy duty polyurethane screeds are ideal for the use in Food and Drink Preparation, Production and Storage areas, in Bakeries, Dairies and Breweries.
They are classed as a FeRFA type 8 and with a good housekeeping regime have an anticipated life span of 10 – 12 years.
