Case Study: Leeds Art University, Leeds

ACC Flooring Ltd was awarded the contract to refurbish the public gallery room at Leeds Arts University.

The existing floor finish had been poorly installed under the supervision of a main contractor with excessive roller marks being clearly visible and with the room being used as a public gallery for the students to exhibit their work the flooring aesthetics detracted from the students work.

Altro Tect solvent free, high build epoxy coating in Portland was chosen by the client as they were looking for a neutral colour to complement the students work.

The existing floor finish was mechanically prepared by diamond grinding prior to the installation of the epoxy coating. Altro Tect benefits from providing a fully sealed surface, good chemical and abrasion resistance with a high gloss finish and is available in an attractive colour palette and has a life expectancy of a minimum 7 years.

The work was completed to the agreed programme enabling the first exhibition of the New Year to take place in the public gallery.
