Case Study: Manufacturer of Industrial Gaskets

ACC Flooring Ltd was approached by a new client who is a world leading manufacturer of a wide range of industrial gaskets and associated products for the gas and oil, petrochemical, aerospace and defence, utilities, pharmaceuticals and chemical industries to provide a solution for a designated area to house a new knife cutting machine.

The 164m² areas had both a worn epoxy coating and bare concrete substrate to mechanically prepare by vacuum controlled diamond grinding removing any laitance from the surface. During the preparation process it became apparent that a small area of concrete was extremely soft. An epoxy scratchcoat was applied to this 32m² space. In these circumstances we have found through experience that Altro Flow solvent free epoxy when trowel applied is the perfect product to provide additional surface protection.

Once the scratchcoat had been allowed to cure, 2 coats of Altro Tect slip resistant high build epoxy coating was installed. The client had specifically asked that we match the existing corporate colours throughout the factory. Altro Ltd was able to match these specific, non-standard colour reference numbers to allow us to facilitate the clients’ request.

Altro Tect slip resistant variant is typically used in general industry, warehouses, vehicle workshops and medium duty areas with the advantages of a fully sealed surface, good chemical resistance, good abrasion resistance, high gloss finish, ease of cleaning and offers a degree of slip resistance. With a benefit of a 3 year product warrant and a 7 year life expectancy it was the ideal solution for this project.
