Case Study: New Brewery Installation
ACC Flooring Ltd was contacted on recommendation from another client to install a seamless and hygienic resin floor for a new brewery business venture in County Durham. The client had meticulously planned the delivery and commissioning of all the new brewing equipment but needed the flooring system to be in place prior to its arrival.
A stainless steel drainage system had been installed before we arrived on site. With the concrete in very good condition the substrate was prepared by vacuum enclosed diamond grinding equipment. A 6mm heavy duty polyurethane screed was recommended for such a demanding environment, where being able to withstand heavy abrasion, point loading and impact may be required, whilst also providing durability.
When laying the flooring into the drainage system, meticulous attention to detail was required to create a smooth transition to ensure that all liquids flowed into the drain to elevate any risk of cross contamination. The natural slip resistant profile in the product provided a safe environment in both wet and dry conditions.
The brewing tanks were to be housed in a bund for which ACC Flooring Ltd installed a polyurethane mortar render and formed coving detail @ 150mm high to the buildings external walls, whilst a spoon cove was installed to the newly created bund walls. All the coving was sealed with water based polyurethane grout.
All the works were completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
“We couldn’t have asked for more from ACC Flooring from start to finish. The installation was professional, completed in less time than stated and achieved exactly what we were after”
