Case Study: Retail Bakery

A retail bakery with outlets nationwide contacted ACC Flooring to refurbish one of their sites. The existing aged flooring was a potential slip hazard and also not to the required hygienic standards for such an environment.

A heavy duty polyurethane screed was recommended by ACC Flooring to provide a hygienic, non-tainting, very high chemical resistant, seamless flooring system with both high abrasion resistance and slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions.

The existing tiled flooring was uplifted by Kango equipment. All the waste produced was recycled under ACC Flooring’s recycling initiative. The exposed substrate was then mechanically prepared with both scabbling and diamond grinding equipment. A primer coat was then installed before the hand trowelled polyurethane system was applied.

A heavy duty polyurethane screed is ideal for heavy duty areas such as commercial kitchens, appliance bays, food and drink preparation, production and storage areas, chemical and pharmaceutical production and storage facilities. An anti-static option is also available which safely grounds or dissipates the build-up of anti-static charge.
