Case Study: Seed Supplier to the Farming Industry

Having successfully provided a solution for their heavily trafficked fork lift truck route in 2017; our client asked if we would carry out further works to two other areas within their business totalling 500m².

Both areas were vacuum enclosed shotblasted with the edges being prepared by vacuum enclosed diamond grinders to remove any laitance. The first area around their manufacturing plant initially required 80m of substrate cracks to be repaired. ACC Maintain Floor Repair is a low odour polyurethane concrete compound ideal for use on both concrete and polymer modified cementitious screeds. The product benefits from good chemical resistance, high abrasion and impact resistance and curing at low temperatures. Unlike epoxy compounds which can be sticky to apply, ACC Maintain Floor Repair has a similar consistency as cement based mortar and can be placed and trowelled to a closed finish at a thickness of 5 – 10mm.

Two coats of ACC HB high build epoxy coating with a slip resistant aggregate scatter between coats was applied around the manufacturing plant in Charcoal and to the fork lift truck route in the clients new store area in Mid Grey.

ACC HB is designed to provide a tough, hardwearing protective floor finish. The product features include a resistance to general chemical spills and a non-dusting durable gloss appearance and is available in a wide range of standard colours. With regular maintenance and cleaning the client should expect a life expectancy of a minimum of 7 years.

ACC HB is the perfect solution for automotive workshops, laboratories, light and medium duty industrial units, warehouse and aircraft hangers and other areas subject to pedestrian and medium duty vehicular traffic.

The client was delighted with both areas which were completed within the agreed timescale causing the minimum downtime to the business.
