Case Study: Manufacturer of Transmission Belts

One of our long standing clients asked if ACC Flooring would re-configure and re-instate the traffic and working areas and storage facilities around a new machine which they had recently had delivered and commissioned.

Due to the condition of the substrate a heavy preparation was required using both Vonarx and vacuum controlled diamond edge grinder to remove any laitance.

ACC Maintain Floor Repair a low odour polyurethane concrete specifically designed to use on floor patching was applied to the areas requiring making good at a thickness of 5 – 10mm. This product has excellent physical properties for use on both concrete and polymer modified cementitious screeds and has outstanding durability, impact and chemical resistance features.

Unlike epoxy compounds, ACC Maintain Floor Repair has a similar consistency to cement based compounds and can be trowelled to a close finish. As it is also resin rich it is easier and quicker to apply than stiffer screeds.

2 coats of ACC HB, low viscosity high build epoxy coating was installed in Mid Grey to the traffic and working areas and in Red to the racking and under roll storage areas.

ACC HB is durable, non-dusting and easy to apply and is available in a wide range of colours in a gloss or silk finish. The product is ideal for light to medium duty work spaces including automotive workshops, laboratories, and industrial units and warehouse flooring.

Altro Line, epoxy line marking in Safety Yellow was applied to the racking and under roll storage areas to complete the demarcation.

Available in Black, White and Safety Red in addition to Safety Yellow, Altro Line is a low odour, high visibility solvent free epoxy high build floor coating available in a gloss finish to highlight and define walkways, isolated areas or spaces.

The resin floor installation was completed in a 3 day window including weekend hours to minimise the amount of downtime.
