Case Study: Wombleton Caravan Park

ACC Flooring were asked by a long standing client to provide an alternative floor finish to the shower areas in a new amenities block at Wombleton Caravan Park in North Yorkshire.

The family owners of the park had decided that in the close season they would build a new amenities block for their campers which needed to be open for the start of the 2019 season at the beginning of March.

Tiles had been specified to both the Ladies and Gents toilet and shower blocks but an alternative was sought in the shower areas to provide a complementary finish with a slip resistant profile.

We recommended Altro Screed 4mm slip resistant decorative epoxy quartz system and after viewing numerous colour samples, Silver Pumice was selected.

A Mapei screed had been applied on top of a damp proof membrane. The screed was primed with Altro Prime and once cured the Altro Screed was applied to both the floor and coving. 2 coats of Altro Seal were then applied with the anti-slip included in the final seal coat.

2 coats of a high build epoxy coating in Mid Grey were installed to the inside of the drainage gullies for additional protection.

Altro Screed 4mm is suitable for medium to heavy duty areas and provides a moderate level of chemical and impact resistance and is ideal for Reception Area, Corridors, Retail offices, Laboratories, Packing areas and Changing areas.

The product comes with a 10 year warranty and 15 year life expectancy in a range of colours and natural colour options evoking tones of polished concrete and stone.

The system was installed in a 4 day programme and our client and owners of the park were delighted with the appearance.
